Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Ortonville Area Health Services Lab Department is seeking a Part-Time MLT to join our Lab team. The MLT performs clinical tests in any one or combination of areas of specialization, approved by the Director of Laboratory Services, used for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The candidate will perform testing in all areas of the laboratory including Phlebotomy, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Serology, Chemistry, Molecular, and Blood Banking.

The MLT will maintain the integrity of test results and continuity of technique from one testing area of the department to another, determine the source of the problem when test validity is in question, and has the ability to perform lab tests under the pressure of heavy patient workload, deadlines, and schedules

Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be responsible, reliable, self-motivated, be able to work independently, and have excellent people skills
  •  Applicants must possess a current MLT certification or be able to achieve certification within 90 days of start date
  • Clinical Laboratory experience is highly preferred, Phlebotomy Skills are a must

This is a Part Time 48+ hours per 2-week pay period position. Daily hours varying to meet scheduling demands and will be included in the Holiday and Call rotation.  The Call rotation includes one night a week of call and every 6th weekend.  Position will qualify for our full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, PTO, retirement etc.)
